Nephos

For our baccalaureate research project, a classmate and I built Nephos (‘cloud’ in Greek), a near-space balloon probe covering materials, electronics, communications and software. It measured atmospheric conditions throughout a flight of about 16 km, took pictures, and transmitted its position over radio and GPRS.
