Winning team of the SRF Challenge at START Hack 2018, St. Gallen

At START Hack 2018 in St. Gallen (Switzerland), my friend Pau Batlle Franch, two other participants and I built NewsMultiRank in 36 hours: a Chrome extension that detects fake and click-bait news on social media and warns users before they click. A machine-learning model (TensorFlow, Keras and scikit-learn) processes the linked article’s text and sends a score back to the browser, which shows an alert when the news looks fake.

The project won the challenge set by SRF (Swiss Radio and Television), organised by Dominik Born.
